Al-Marsad Newspaper: Al-Arabiya channel published a video clip documenting an interview with the elderly woman, Thuraya Al-Bukhaith, from the Hail region, who has been making and selling sarar, ground red pepper, for forty years.

Thuraya Al-Bakhith said: I have always been patient with a load of produce to sell, until we were transferred to Hail market to sell carrots for forty years.

Her daughter said that the people of Hail call ground pepper ‘al-Sarar’, and the women of Hail distinguish themselves by adding flavors to ground pepper, excluding other regions.

The daughter continued that she and her siblings helped their mother prepare pepper and their mother takes it and sells it at the Hail market, and she continued to practice this profession after the death of her father, who died when she was young used to be.

The daughter added that her mother, Soraya, was like a father and mother, helping her children complete their studies and not go to the market with her.
