A press release from the Texas Lottery announced that a $1 million top prize scratch-off ticket had been claimed by an Edinburgh resident.

The ticket deck, $100,000,000 Riches!, was purchased at the HEB Food Store #172, located at 1212 S. Closner Blvd. in Edinburgh. The person who purchased and claimed the winning ticket has chosen to remain anonymous.
“This was the second of four $1 million top prizes claimed in this game,” the press release said. “$100,000,000 wealth! offers a total of more than $119.7 million in prizes. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game are one in 3.66, including break-even prizes.”
Since 1992, when the first ticket was sold, the Texas Lottery has generated $37.9 billion in revenue for the state. Approximately $83 billion in prizes have been awarded to lottery players.
The Texas Lottery has also contributed $31.9 billion since 1997 to the Foundation School Fund, which supports public education in Texas.
“As authorized by the Texas Legislature, certain Texas Lottery revenues benefit state programs, including the Fund for Veterans’ Assistance,” the statement said. “Since launching the first veteran-themed scratch-off game in 2009, the Texas Lottery has contributed more than $223 million to programs supporting Texas veterans.”
