The Giza 92 variety, grown in Damietta Governorate, fetched about P18,450 per quintal.
The Giza 94 variety, grown in Sharkia, Dakahlia and Ismailia governorates, fetched about P15,700 per quintal.
Cotton is one of the most important strategic and economic crops, and due to the price increase, this has led to a demand to increase the horizontal cropped area, coupled with efforts to increase vertical production, as the cropped area has witnessed a noticeable decline in recent years.
